a common housewife in the fast lane

 I can only imagine

I am in the process of writing a post to go along with my new background. Hopefully, that will be done today if I can get some time to myself. For now, I thought of this song this morning when I was over at The White Lodge conversing with the The Squabbler. I love it so much that I thought I would put it on my own blog too.

It's a BE-A-U-TI-FUL day out in Upstate, New York today so I think I will spend some time walking.

Have a GREAT day!

This is a prayer request/I was tagged!

I know I've already shared these pictures before but this is more of a prayer request than a blog post.

We had our cabin up for sale last fall, knowing that it was not the right time of year for buyers. We got a couple of bites but nothing firm. We took it off for the winter because I didn't want to deal with the snow and mud that would be tracked in for just a few browsers.

We listed it again last weekend and have had some exciting responses. There is a couple from another state who showed interest last fall and are coming all the way back in a few days to look at it again. We had a young couple look at it last weekend and there are several more this weekend.

The thing is with lake property is that it is expensive (we are asking the same price for our one bedroom cabin as we would for our six bedroom split level that we live in now) and only a limited number of people have that kind of money for a 'seasonal' place. The price is not set by the beauty of the residence but by the linear footage of the lakefront one owns.

Money is tight right now. Real tight. We don't even have a house phone at the moment, we let the newspaper go temporarily, and we are pinching pennies other places. If we can sell the property this spring it will open up some options for us and we will be able to financially help a couple of people we know who could use it too.

So, I'm asking if you will please pray that it gets sold soon. One thing I know is that blogstreamers are the best for asking for prayer. Love you guys.

BTW, I was tagged.  I had to say five things people have told me that I remembered.  It was harder than I figured it would  be. These are my answers:

1.) "I've had a great sufficiency, anymore would be a superfluity"My grandfather after a big meal......I try to remember it BEFORE I have the big meal!

2.) "Shega.......shega"
The spelling might be wrong but that is Portuguese for "enough....enough".

My mom at the dinner table or when POH was putting too much sugar on her cereal.

3.)  "Even a fool appears wise if he keeps his mouth shut"

King Solomon...........I repeat that too my kids ALL the time.

4.)  "Grow old or die young........that's your only choice"

I can't remember where I heard it, but I say it all the time.

5.)  "What goes around comes around"

He didn't make it up, but Mr. Hope says it all the time.

Let's see, I will tag, Monster, music, Aussie Chick (Jess), and Anthony Casimire.

 When you've done all...................stand.

My kids have been listening to Rascal Flatts ever since he sang with Carrie Underwood on American Idol. I never even knew who he was until then. I really like some of his songs and this one can be backed up by Scripture. The Bible says, "When you've done all, stand". So, when you've done all you can do, get down on your knees, look up, get mad, get strong, then stand.

So, here ya go...................

 Wild Blue

Okay, this is it. I have no internet at the lake and since I am starting to spend so much more time there, in fact, we are slowly moving ourselves out there, it is annoying.....to say the least. At the same time, money is a crunch at the moment so we are looking for the best service at the best price.

We were going to go with DirectWay even though start up costs are expensive and the monthly charge is more than roadrunner even though the speed is slower. We looked into working off of our cell phone but that is expensive too and the service is only slightly faster than dial up (the advantage with the phone being that you can get wireless anywhere you go, even in the car......however, I have been tapping into wireless zones EVERYWHERE, even along the side of the road, so.........

*blushes....covers face....feels shame for about one minute and then remembers that you can't 'steal' something that is in the AIR......helllllooooo!*

So, anyway, no one is smarter and has more unbridled opinions about this stuff then my fellow blogstreamers......so, here it is..........

We just heard about a new service coming in June (can I wait that long? *slaps hand on head*) called Wild Blue. It is supposed to be cheaper and faster than roadrunner. Has anyone heard of it? Does anyone know about it?

Thanks for any info you can give me.

By the way, Little POH has, on occasion turned into Leeeeeeetle POOOOOOH, when she has not had free access to a computer.

So, for Mr. Hope's sake, maybe you'd like to help me out, hmmmmmmm?

This might be why I never wanted to be a lifeguard

Since I was swimming before I was walking (re: the story in my last post )

I thought this was funny. Well, I have to admit that even though I took lifesaving courses I never had the desire to be lifeguard. Maybe it was all that sitting in the sun that made me nervous for my blonde skin...........then again, it might be that I think I met up with this particular lifeguard once!
