My mother told me once that my father was "mesmerized" by a nicely burning fire. I love fires too. They have to be real ones though. Those gas fireplaces just don't do it for me. My friend Daniel told me once, on a birthday card that the Hardcore kids from youth group made for me on my 43rd birthday, that "Connie starts the fire". Well, I don't think that is true....I think God is the true 'firestarter'...but I got his point.
One thing I know about fire is that while it can be good and it can be bad....we can't live without it. If you've ever seen the movie Castaway, you will see all the trouble Tom Hanks character went to in order to make "fiiiiiiiieeeeerrrrrrrr!".......
I don't know why I was thinking about this today....maybe because we are going to have a little fire tonight, if it doesn't get too windy here.
I don't know if I am the firestarter at the moment, Daniel. Let's just say that I'm not jumping around on chairs at TimnEllies or Golden Heights anymore. The Bible says that when you've done all stand. Just stand. I can say THAT for myself anyway. I'm still standing. My life is pretty much about survival now.........I'm thinkin' that's why I liked the movie enough to watch it five times and still get a kick out of this YouTube scene. If you want to fully enjoy it though you have to press pause on the music widget or you will hear both the clip and the music playing at the same time.
Love you all, prisonerofhope

LOL Whit! I'm not sure that was the kind of fire that my friend Daniel was talking about, as he was 16 and I was 43 at the time, but I did enjoy the song and Will Young has a very nice voice.
